When I started working in a nursery school at the age of 25, I felt it was time to have a child of my own. However, despite the fact that my husband and I had stopped taking precautions, we were unable to get pregnant for a long time. After more than a year of trying and 'targeting' my fertile days, I broached the subject with my gynaecologist. This conversation scared me on the one hand, because I was horrified at how little we knew about fertility and trying for a baby, but on the other hand, it gave me hope!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two of us went back to see my doctor. My husband and I had prepared for this visit for a long time. Not only had we read about genital structure, function and hormones, but also about research and infertility treatment. It surprised us that we knew so little. I think it's worth every couple finding out what we did - if not on their own, then from their doctor. Knowledge is reassuring. At least it reassured us. When we turned up at the doctor's, we knew and understood what he was saying to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a few weeks we started treatment. We quickly overcame the difficulties - after only a few months of treatment I became pregnant! We succeeded without using IVF. Our efforts were supported by several different experts - Invimed doctors, including an andrologist, a nutritionist and a psychologist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the next test showed two lines, our happiness knew no bounds. From the beginning I took great care of myself. I went for walks every day to oxygenate my body. I came back from one of them with bleeding. I was terrified. We immediately went to the hospital to check that the baby was okay. The doctors did tests for four days. Eventually they concluded that it was safe for us to go home. We breathed a sigh of relief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the due date came it turned out that I had no dilation or contraction action. It wasn't until four days later that we went to hospital with the first signs of labour. Unfortunately, it was not without complications. Although I wanted it very much, I was not able to give birth naturally. Our daughter was born by caesarean section. On 10 January at 5pm we welcomed Weronisia into the world! It was worth the wait to have such a wonderful daughter!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
