Endometriosis - what are the changes in a woman's body?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Endometriosis<\/a> is an insidious disease that wreaks havoc on a woman's body often condemning her to suffering and infertility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pain is most often felt just before or during menstruation, preventing many women from functioning normally, disrupting sex life and isolating them from the outside world. An important and worrying symptom of endometriosis is difficulty getting pregnant.<\/strong> It is estimated that the problem affects approximately 30% infertile patients<\/strong>.     The cause of these unpleasant conditions for women is endometrial tissue migrating through the body<\/strong>which should physiologically flake off and flow out through the reproductive tract.       Endometriosis - diagnosis to date<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      How to test for endometriosis? The diagnosis of endometriosis is very difficult because the disease often gives confusing and difficult to recognise alarm signs. Sometimes patients underestimate their complaints, as the symptoms can occur in varying numbers and severity. In addition, the disease may be asymptomatic<\/strong>which means that doctors who do not specialise in the treatment of endometriosis do not know whether or which endometriosis tests to perform. This is why it is so important to go to a specialist gynaecologist who deals with the treatment of this female disease if you have any worrying symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      What tests for endometriosis?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        Usually, the first step in diagnosing the disease is a thorough history and gynaecological examination. This is followed by an ultrasound examination of the uterus and abdominal cavity and the ordering of tests, among others, from the blood, which will clearly confirm the possible suspicion of endometriosis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Diagnosing endometriosis is a long and multi-stage process. It is a non-obvious disease that is difficult to diagnose for a reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        How to detect endometriosis in such a non-obvious case? The most common procedures are MRI or laparoscopy, through which, in addition to their diagnostic value, we gain information on the extent of the disease. However, using even highly invasive procedures - such as laparoscopy - there is no guarantee that the endometrial focus will be correctly located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        A test for endometriosis like never before<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        Until now, the process of diagnosing the disease has taken a long time, usually dragging on for months and sometimes even years. In order to shorten the diagnostic pathway, the Invimed clinics have available A complete novelty on the diagnostic testing market - the world's first minimally invasive EndoRNA qRT-PCR test for endometriosis.<\/strong> Thanks to the use of this ground-breaking study developed by Polish scientists, it is possible to diagnose the disease earlier, and this makes it possible to start treatment earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        The test is performed in an outpatient setting, quickly and in complete safety. It involves taking a smear from the uterine cavity, i.e. using an aspiration biopsy of the endometrium. The collection takes a few minutes, is minimally invasive and can be performed without anaesthesia, although it may cause discomfort in some patients. The collected material is transferred to the diagnostic laboratory, where the test is performed using a PCR reaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        HOW DOES THE TEST WORK?<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        EndoRNA involves determining the expression level of the gene encoding the protein fucosyltransferase 4 (FUT4).<\/strong> According to recent studies, the expression (mRNA) of FUT4 is significantly elevated in the endometrial cells of patients with endometriosis compared to the endometrium of healthy patients. This makes it possible to confirm the disease in patients with suspected endometriosis or to exclude the existence of endometriosis.

        The test involves taking a smear from the uterine cavity. The waiting time for the results is approximately 14 working days.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n \t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n

        Is there a blood test for endometriosis?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        Is there a blood test for endometriosis? One of the currently recommended non-invasive diagnostic tests in addition to ultrasound is a blood test for endometriosis, i.e. the determination of CA-125 concentrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        CA-125 is a protein that acts as a tumour marker in, among other things, ovarian cancer. CA-125 levels increase not only with cancer, but also with other benign diseases of the genital tract, including endometriosis. As the use of this marker is used to diagnose many, other diseases, the biochemical marker CA-125 cannot alone confirm the presence of endometriosis in a patient. In certain cases, this test can be a helpful tool in the doctor's decision on further medical management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        When to apply for the test qualification?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        In order to attend the qualification for the test, you need to register for an appointment with your gynaecologist (on any day of your cycle). For the qualification, the patient should bring with her a current (performed within the last 12 months) cytology test result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        After qualification, the patient should register for the test, during which the test will be performed - this should take place between the 14th and 20th day of the cycle (the optimal time frame for the test will be indicated by the doctor during the qualification appointment). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        How much does an endometriosis test cost? Price<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        Until now, there were already tests to detect endometriosis, but none were sensitive enough. There is also good news: The tests are now available in our offices at Invimed clinics. The price of the test is around 2000 PLN. Details below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
