The test can detect changes that may require further diagnosis and treatment \u2013 before any symptoms appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Having regular smear tests is an important part of cervical cancer prevention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is best to have a cytology test carried out at the right stage of your cycle. It is also advisable to follow the instructions on how to prepare for the sample collection before the test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n AMH, or anti-M\u00fcllerian hormone, is one of the parameters used to assess ovarian reserve.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n An AMH test measures the level of a hormone produced by cells in the ovaries. Its concentration is one of the factors used to assess reproductive potential and may be helpful, amongst other things, in planning fertility assessments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is worth remembering that An AMH result alone does not indicate whether or when you will become pregnant<\/strong>. Nor does it indicate the quality of the eggs. It should be interpreted in a broader context \u2013 alongside age, medical history and other test results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The AMH test is a blood test, and it does not need to be carried out on a specific day of the cycle in quite the same way as some other hormone tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n However, if you are planning to have the following done in a single visit AMH and a smear test<\/strong>, the date should be chosen, first and foremost, taking into account the appropriate time for the smear test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Cytology and AMH provide answers to various questions regarding women\u2019s health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Cytology <\/strong>\u2013 helps ensure preventive care for cervical health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n AMH <\/strong>\u2013 provides information used to assess ovarian reserve and fertility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They are not interchangeable, but both are an important part of taking a proactive approach to health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Don\u2019t wait until something starts to worry you.
