{"id":7049,"date":"2024-04-30T10:48:49","date_gmt":"2024-04-30T10:48:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/invimed.pl\/?page_id=7049"},"modified":"2026-03-25T12:51:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T12:51:49","slug":"hysteroscopy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/invimed.pl\/en\/badania\/histeroskopia","title":{"rendered":"Hysteroscopy"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"najwazniejsze-informacje\"><strong>Highlights<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hysteroscopy can detect abnormalities not visible on ultrasound and is the most accurate examination to assess the anatomy of the uterine cavity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The examination is performed under general anaesthesia, takes 10-15 minutes and consists of an assessment of the cervical canal, the uterine cavity and the fallopian tube orifices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Contraindications to hysteroscopy are pregnancy, the onset of menstruation and ongoing inflammation in the body.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"co-to-jest-histeroskopia\">What is a hysteroscopy?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Hysteroscopy is a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure used to assess the shape of the uterine cavity, the condition of the endometrium and the uterine orifices of the fallopian tubes. During the examination with a hysteroscope, the doctor performs a detailed visualisation of the inside of the uterus and can thus see even small pathological changes within the mucosa, such as endometrial polyps, submucosal myomas and intrauterine adhesions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"jak-przygotowac-sie-do-histeroskopii\">How to prepare for a hysteroscopy?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"check-list\">\n\t    <header class=\"check-list__header\">\n        <div class=\"acf-innerblocks-container\">\n\n<p>Hysteroscopy is most often performed under general intravenous anaesthesia. For this reason, the patient should report for the procedure on an empty stomach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hysteroscopic examinations are performed in the first <a href=\"https:\/\/invimed.pl\/en\/cycle-monitoring\/\" type=\"page\" id=\"5819\">phase of the menstrual cycle (before ovulation)<\/a>. Preparation for hysteroscopy may also include the use of hormonal medication, which affects the thickness of the endometrium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Patients who have a history of allergy symptoms to any medication should inform their doctor before qualifying for the procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"przeciwwskazania-do-badania-histeroskopowego\">Contraindications to hysteroscopic examination<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Diagnostic hysteroscopy cannot be performed during pregnancy. The onset of menstrual bleeding is also not an appropriate time to perform the examination. An important contraindication for assessment of the inside of the uterus is ongoing inflammation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"czy-histeroskopia-boli\">Does a hysteroscopy hurt?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Hysteroscopy is usually a painless examination for most patients, but for the comfort of the woman the examination is performed under general anaesthesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<section  <\/div>\n        <\/li>\n        <\/ul>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"histeroskopia-a-polipy-endometrialne\">Hysteroscopy and endometrial polyps<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Endometrial polyps can cause difficulties in getting pregnant. In patients trying for pregnancy, they should be removed. The excised lesions will then be examined histopathologically (statistically 1% lesions of this type are malignant).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Information on uterine polyps can be found on many medical websites, allows visualisation of the inside of a woman's reproductive organs. The image of the inside of the uterus appears on the monitor screen - it is significantly magnified, which allows pathological changes to be detected at an early stage of their
