Her great gift - a small cell.

The egg donors are young and healthy. They have already become mothers, so they know exactly what it means to carry a child under their hearts. They want to help other women experience the same. Find out how to become an egg cell donor. What are the criteria?

Who is the donor?

A donor is a person who anonymously donates some of her own egg cells to an infertile woman. These are then fertilised in vitro with sperm from the donor or the recipient's partner, and the resulting embryos are transferred to the recipient's uterus, where they develop as in a natural pregnancy. In this way, a woman who has no ova of her own can give birth to a child.

Oocyte donor - criteria

Only a healthy woman between the ages of 21 and 32 who is the mother of at least one healthy child or has never donated ova before can become a donor. If a woman has more children, they must also be fully healthy and, like her, unencumbered by genetic defects.

Become an egg cell donor! What are the specific tests for a candidate?

In accordance with the eligibility criteria cell donors for adoptionwhich, at the InviMed clinic, have been prepared on the basis of the law and international standards developed by the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) and the Human Fertilisation and Embryo Authority (HFEA, UK), the donor completes questionnaires about both her health and the health of her family before undergoing the egg donation procedure. She also undergoes a series of different tests. She starts with blood tests - a general blood count, group determination, hormones and determination of ovarian reserve levels, indicating the level of fertility. At this stage, the following are also checked cytology results. Factors preventing donation include addictions. If the laboratory results meet the requirements of the InviMed clinic, the donor is invited to see a psychologist to discuss the motivations for joining the programme and the possible impact of this decision on her future life. The next step is a visit to the gynaecologist. The doctor verifies the test results and takes a medical history. In addition, he performs a gynaecological examination and an ultrasound of the reproductive organs, and tells her what the hormonal stimulation and the oocyte retrieval procedure entails. He also makes a referral for a second series of tests to rule out any genetic or viral diseases.

If the test results are normal, the candidate is qualified for the egg cell donation procedure. This way, she can help fulfil the dream of motherhood for other women for whom IVF with a donor cell is the only chance of having a child.
