Magda and Darek drive into the clinic in Gdynia in a double pram with two adorable babies, Kinga and Nikolai, sleeping in it. They waited to visit until Magda had recovered from giving birth. They came to show off their double happiness that they had waited so long for. Discover their story as told by Darek.

Our story began with a gynaecologist in Sopot, to whom we went after five months of unsuccessful efforts. We decided it was time to get tested. After a series of tests, it turned out that I had weak semen and this was the reason for our failure. The doctor prescribed us vitamins to improve our semen, but it didn't help. We started looking for other solutions. We tried insemination, but it didn't work. Finally, we found the InviMed clinic. We ended up with Dr Rogoza. A more advanced analysis showed that my sperm was not the worst and there was a chance of success if we used in vitro fertilisation. We enrolled in the in vitro programme reimbursed by the Ministry of Health. However, we succeeded outside the programme because it turned out that the programme had ended in Gdynia, and we had confidence in Dr Rogoza and really wanted him to lead our treatment. It was a good decision. We succeeded the third time. And doubly so - we have twins!

Decision

The decision about IVF itself was a difficult one for us. We considered it for a long time, but when you really want a child you use all methods to have one. Those who think otherwise should put themselves in the shoes of those who cannot have children. We were in the good position of having a family that understood us, and we received a lot of support, mainly from my mother. We really wanted to become parents. We even took out a loan from the bank for treatment. We came to the conclusion that we wouldn't look at the money, that everything would work out somehow.

Double happiness

When we found out we were going to have two kids we were very surprised. I don't think we were prepared for it, but now we are very happy. We wondered what gender they would be. I wanted two girls, my wife wanted a couple - a boy and a girl.

When I look back on it, I am glad that we had enough strength to fight for happiness. Therefore, to all those who are now in a situation like we once were, we would like to say that the key to success is patience. You must not give up, you must keep moving forward despite everything.
