Today we are happy parents.

Kacperek came into the world in July 2016 thanks to IVF. We are not ashamed of this, but we don't want to talk about it directly, due to the fact that we live in a small town. Therefore, only our loved ones know about this fact. The most important thing for us is that Kacperek is already with us - our happiness and greatest Treasure.

It all started in 2011 when I miscarried our first child, despite this we did not stop trying for another pregnancy and the chance of a full family. However, after many years of natural efforts, we decided to consult a specialist to find out what was the cause of our failures. In the beginning, it was an embarrassing and even touchy subject for us. We were very relived the first visits to the clinic related to infertility treatment.

Our first steps were directed to InviMed in Bydgoszcz. Dr Karpow started the diagnostics and it turned out that my husband had weak sperm, so he took selenium and zinc to strengthen his sperm. Which brought satisfactory results in a very short time. Even so, natural methods with us were not having the desired effect due to the polycystic ovarian syndrome I had been diagnosed with. It was then that Dr Karpow suggested insemination. There was a first, a second and another - unfortunately all of them unsuccessful. There was further disappointment and tears.

After long discussions and thinking about what to do next, we decided to try IVF and that's when we went to the InviMed clinic in Gdynia to Dr Rogoza - as it turned out, the decision was the right one.

It wasn't easy at the beginning due to frequent, hours-long commutes to the clinic, tests, stimulations, but we managed to get 5 embryos. In the first attempt, we decided to introduce two embryos - it turned out that both embryos accepted and we are expecting twins. The joy was great, but it was short-lived until the 16th week of pregnancy, where one fetus died. Then came the anxiety and fear of what would happen to the second one. Fortunately, nature can fight such cases and the embryo simply absorbed itself. Pregnancy was not an easy time for me, because at around 21 weeks the doctor in charge put me on a pessary because my cervix dilated prematurely, at which point I had to limit my physical activity and rest a lot. In between, I developed gestational diabetes. Nonetheless, our 2450g of happiness was worth our efforts and efforts. You may ask why only 2450 g, but it is because Kacper was born at 34 weeks' gestation by Caesarean section due to the placenta detaching. Today we are very happy parents and our son is the apple of the family's eye. Although it has been a very expensive and stressful road for us, we believe that it is worth fighting for our dreams.

We have two more embryos and will probably make another attempt in the near future and hopefully it will be just as successful and Kacper will have a sibling 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
