EmbryoGlue®

Sometimes it happens that, despite obtaining a promising embryo, a pregnancy cannot be maintained because there are difficulties with the embryo implanting in the uterine cavity. The chances of proper embryo implantation increase with EmbryoGlue®.

What is EmbryoGlue?

EmbryoGlue is an embryo physiological solution containing hyaluronate, which in the natural cycle is also secreted in large amounts by the endometrial cells during the pre-implantation period. Studies have shown that an increase in the secretion of hyaluronate increases the viscosity of the secretions, which contributes to their adhesion and therefore stabilises the interaction of the endometrium with the embryo, helping the embryo to implant into the endometrium.

How does EmbryoGlue work?

EmbryoGlue® mimics the action of pre-implantation uterine secretions. On the day of embryo transfer, hyaluronate mediates the contact between embryo and endometrium at the beginning of the implantation process by binding to specific receptors, mainly CD44, found in both embryos and endometrium. As in the natural cycle, the EmbryoGlue® effect enhances the affinity of the embryo to the endometrium. The use of EmbryoGlue during embryo transfer increases the success of the IVF treatments by approximately 10%. The clinic's own material showed the highest increase in treatment success with Embryo Glue in transfers of embryos developed to the blastocyst stage.

Who can benefit from EmbryoGlue?

It is particularly indicated for use in frozen embryo transfers in cases of failure of previous transfers and in patients over 35 years of age.
