Programme entitled „Support of infertility treatment with the in vitro fertilisation method - in vitro for the inhabitants of the Śląskie Voivodeship for 2023-2026”.”
developed by the Local Government of the Silesian Voivodship, includes funding of PLN 6,900 depending on the procedure performed:
a. Stimulation of multiple ovulation with monitoring of its progress,
b. performing an egg follicle puncture,
c. general anaesthesia during LP,
d. in vitro fertilisation and supervision of embryo development,
e. transfer of embryo(s) into the uterine cavity in a stimulated cycle and/or cryopreserved transfers in a spontaneous or substitution cycle by IVF or ICSI in accordance with PTMRiE/PTG 2018 and ASRM/SART 2021A recommendations,
f. vitrification of embryos with preserved developmental potential,
g. cryopreservation of embryos with preserved developmental potential that have not been transferred into the uterine cavity for subsequent use by the couple in subsequent cycles and the costs of their storage during the Programme (thereafter the costs are paid by the couple),
h. cryopreservation of oocytes in patients before gonadotoxic treatment and their storage at no cost to the patients for the duration of the Programme. After this period, the cost of storing/cryopreservation of oocytes is the patients' cost.
Conditions of eligibility for the Programme
Couples who cannot fulfil their reproductive plans through natural conception and who meet the following criteria will be eligible for the Programme:
- the woman's age is between 20 and 42 years (according to her year of birth);
- medical indications in accordance with the Infertility Treatment Act and the current recommendations of the PTMRiE and PTGiP for the diagnosis and treatment of infertility;
- meet the conditions set out in the Act for undertaking in vitro fertilisation treatment in the context of partner or non-partner donation or for entering into an embryo donation procedure;
- are residents of the Silesian Voivodeship (at least one person from the pair) who, on the day of qualifying for the Programme, have had their place of residence in the Silesian Voivodeship for at least three full months preceding the day of qualifying for the Programme;
- are married or in a civil partnership (as defined in Article 2(1)(8) of the Infertility Treatment Act of 25 June 2015);
- submit to the Executor a completed form of informed consent to participate in the Programme, and sign a declaration that they are not currently participants in another Programme of a similar nature financed from public funds (applies to both partners);
- agree to bear the costs of storing the cryopreserved embryos and any cryotransfers themselves and undertake to cover these costs from their own resources after the Programme period;
- Couples with a condition requiring gonadotoxic treatment, e.g. cancer, for fertility preservation to freeze gametes or embryos between the ages of 20 and 42 are quickly eligible.
