The "Yes to IVF" programme is intended to take care of patients from diagnosis to the prenatal period
Experts are looking at local government programmes to prepare the best possible competition rules for infertility clinics to apply for funding at their facilities. The rules so far have had to take into account the limited funds local governments can allocate to help subsidise treatment for their residents.
The Minister of Health stressed that she was keen for infertile patients to receive holistic care, that the competition rules for future implementers of the nationwide IVF funding programme would be known in April.
The state's IVF funding programme is due to start as early as 1 June 2024.
