What does the IVF procedure look like at Invimed?
According to recent figures, in Poland, one in five couples of childbearing age is unsuccessfully trying to have a child. For many of them, one chance to fulfil the dream of parenthood is to use in vitro fertilisation. In the world, the in vitro method is considered the basic and most effective technique for treating infertility.
What is the in vitro method?
The in vitro fertilisation procedure involves the fusion of a female gamete with a male gamete under laboratory conditions (Latin for in vitro).
How does the in vitro procedure work?
The IVF method consists of several stages.
- The first step is to see a specialist, who will order the appropriate diagnostics for the partners.
- After reviewing the results, the doctor prescribes hormonal medication to the woman and the so-called hormonal stimulation begins.
- After hormonal stimulation, an LP procedure is performed.
- Under laboratory conditions, an experienced embryologist combines a female cell with a male cell. Embryo culture begins.
- Between the 2nd and 5th day after fertilisation, an embryo transfer procedure is carried out into the woman's uterus.
